Polyphenylsulfon (PPSU) ist ein amorphes Polymer, das sich durch eine hohe Glasübergangstemperatur und geringe Feuchtigkeitsaufnahme auszeichnet. PPSU hat eine bessere Schlagfestigkeit und chemische Beständigkeit als andere sulfonierte Polymere wie PSU und PES. Darüber hinaus ist PPSU beständig gegen wiederholte Sterilisationsverfahren sowie Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsmittel, was es zu einer idealen Lösung für medizinische Anwendungen macht.
