Cast polyamide 6 (cast nylon) is an ideal solution for applications requiring an excellent combination of mechanical properties and wear resistance. This material is distinguished by its excellent sliding and friction characteristics, along with the ability to be produced in large sizes, typical of the casting process. Polyamide offers remarkable stress resistance, good acoustic damping properties and corrosion resistance, as well as a light weight that makes it an advantageous alternative to metals. In fact, because of its low specific gravity, PA6C is often advantageous over materials such as iron, aluminum, brass, and bronze, which it often replaces in wear-prone industrial applications. It finds ideal use in components such as bushings, gears, pulleys and pinions.
